You try to migrate classification of PIR - Purchase Info Records.

This error message is raised, if the material number is not valid.

Data Migration Object - Object Classification (general template)

SAP delivers a lot of Data Migration Objects to support importing data to S/4HANA or S/4HANA Cloud.

For Classification (CA-CL) there are also several Data Migration Objects. 
If you want to import classification data for business objects (like Product), you can use the migration objects for Object Classification.

For Object Classification with migration approach "File/Staging Table" we offer "Object classification - General template" which can be used to import classification data via an excel for different business object types in one step.
To be able to support multiple object types in the migration object, the object instances are identified via 
  Name of Database Table for Object  -  object type
  Object Key                         -  internal representation of the concatenated key.

The concatenation rules for a given object type must be in synch with classification customizing of the target system.

For business objects with concatenated keys (like Batch, Document Info Record, Purchasing Info Record) it can be very cumbersome to provide a valid object key.

Therefore in this document we would like to provide some hints:
 - First check whether there is also an object specific migration object to migrate your classification data. If yes, then consider using that one. 
 - If there is no such, then you need to define the object keys as described above.
