3204825 - External requirements are not considered in the lot size calculation during MRP for MRP type VB

Symptom

You maintain the planning parameter for a material as follow:
1. MRP Type: VB – Reorder Point Planning
2. Lot Sizing Procedure: HB – Replenish to maximum stock level
3. Max. Stock Level: 1 - generate requirements based on Maximum stock level after covering requirement (This can be set in SSCUI 101112 - Check Lot-Sizing Procedures)

Based on the definition of "Max. Stock Level", if it is set to "1", the lot size should be "maximum stock level + total requirements - current warehouse stock - existing fixed receipt elements". However, after the MRP run, the purchase requisition generated just consider the maximum stock level but doesn't cover the existing requirements for the material.

Environment

SAP S4HANA Cloud

Cause

The requirements are not considered in the lot size calculation due to wrong configuration.

In SSCUI 101171 - Check MRP Types, we need to set the field "Include ext. reqmts" and select proper items below. In this way, the external requirements, such as order reservation, will be considered during the MRP run, and thus by the lot size calculation.

Resolution

Make the proper configuration in SSCUI 101171 according to your business.
