BAdI /IWWRK/BADI_WF_BEFORE_UPD_IB is implemented according to the guidelines of KBA 3156406 - Task Gateway BAdI -  /IWWRK/BADI_WF_BEFORE_UPD_IB, but the BAdI is not called, the following symptoms are experienced in Fiori My Inbox application: 

• Approve/Reject buttons are not working,
• Work items are staying in My Inbox after Approve/Reject user action.
• Work items are only disappearing from My Inbox after manual refresh
