3205132 - HTTP/2 protocol version not supported in SOAP Receiver Adapter

Trying to connect to an receiver endpoint using the SOAP receiver adapter and you see the following symptoms.

1. xpi inspector trace shows error 
   Communication over HTTPS/PROXY. Handshake error; Additional info com.sap.aii.af.sdk.xi.net.TraceWriter@3c9bb684
   [EXCEPTION]
   iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: internal error
2. running a curl command against the endpoint curl -v <url> --proxy <hostnam>:<port> would give an output of 
   ALPN, server accepted to use h2
   Using HTTP2, server supports multi-use
   Connection state changed (HTTP/2 confirmed)
3. Opening the endpoint in a browser and checking the Chrome Dev Tool ( F12 ) → Network → Protocol we can see the protocol used by the website is h2
