3206583 - ASE update with SAP Host Agent fails: There is no SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise in SYBASE directory - SAP ASE for Business Suite

• SAP ASE upgrade using the latest version of SAP Host Agent with TASK=UPDATE_ASE fails with the following error:

  ERROR: Installation failed with rc=1. Please check /sybase/SID/sapdbctrl-config/sybInst.4435.out.

• /sybase/SID/sapdbctrl-config/sybInst.XXXX.out file reports the following error:
  

  Installer can not do update.  There is no SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise in '/sybase/<SID>'.  Verify your destination directory is correct or rerun the installer with "DO_UPDATE_INSTALL=false".

• The SAP ASE installation path /sybase/<SID> exists with the correct permissions.
  
  
• This KBA doesn't apply for ASE upgrade done using "setup.bin" (which is used for upgrading ASE for non-SAP applications)

• SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise(ASE) version 16.x for Business Suite
