3206722 - Unexpected Sender Shown in Output Facet

Symptom

When looking at the Output facet for a sales quote or order, you see the last person who edited the object (either logged in user or approver) is shown as sender. You expect to see the Sales Unit, as that is where the sender e-mail address is expected to be pulled from.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Cause

The Sender on the Output facet (Sales Quote UI) is the user who triggered the actual sending of the Output message (independent of output channels).

In a normal case, the Sender is the last 'Changed By' User of the sales quote. If a quote is approval relevant, it is the last Approver (who is also the last Changed By).
However, the sender e-mail address is the usually taken from the sales quote's sales unit (if maintained).

Resolution

This is expected system behaviour. Just as further info, here is the priority order how the sender email address is determined:
1) Sales Unit Party.
2) Employee Responsible.
3) Seller Party.
4) Default Tenant's address.
