3207085 - Unable to find valid certification path to requested target error when calling mail server from CPI

Symptom

  • When calling a mail server from CPI via a Mail receiver adapter, the call is failing with the following error - 

    [org.apache.camel.RuntimeCamelException - javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not convert socket to TLS; nested exception is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target], cause: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

  • Mail adapter in exception subprocess is failing with a certificate error.
