3207763 - Error: Enter Either a Location ID or a Logistics Area ID for Sequence

Symptom

System triggers below error when removing Basic Material Flow Rules from location master data.

Error: Enter Either a Location ID or a Logistics Area ID for Sequence ABC

(ABC represents the sequence name)

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Supply Chain Design Master Data Work Center.
  2. Go to Locations View.
  3. Select the relevant location.
  4. Choose Edit.
  5. Go to Material Flow tab.
  6. Remove the Source Logistics Area and the Destination Logistics Area below the Basic Rule option.
  7. Choose Save.
  8. The following error appears,

 Enter either a location ID or a logistics area ID for sequence ABC

(ABC represents the sequence name)

Cause

Material Flow Rules cannot be deleted from Basic Rule option. It can be only deleted from Advanced Rule Option.

Resolution

This is the expected system behavior.

Follow the below steps to delete the Material Flow Rules

  1. Go to Supply Chain Design Master Data Work Center.
  2. Go to Locations View.
  3. Select the relevant location.
  4. Choose Edit.
  5. Go to Material Flow tab.
  6. Select Advanced Rule.
  7. Choose remove to delete the sequence under both Source and Destination tabs.
