With the 1H 2022 Release, SAP SuccessFactors announced OAuth 2.0 support for the Employee Delta Export Add-In for Microsoft Excel. You wish to find out how to configure OAuth for the Employee Delta Export Add-In

Cause

New functionality

Resolution

  1. Access tool: the following pop up will appear



  2. In your SAP SuccessFactors instance, navigate to Manage OAuth2 Client Applications 
  3. Register Client Application
  4. Enter Application Name, Description (optional), Application URL 
  5. Generate X.509 Certificate
  6. Enter Common Name (CN) and Validity (Days) (optional)
  7. Generate
  8. Register
  9. Make a note of the API Key and X.509 Certificate


  10. Back in the Employee Delta Export, enter User ID, Api Key and Private Key (X.509 Certificate)
  11. The report will begin extracting data

Please ensure to adhere to the following Best Practices:

  1. Always bind the user
  2. Always use the latest Excel Add-in version available here
  3. Configure oAuth2 client and use this data in Excel to login as per the instructions available here
  4. Limit permissions as illustrated here and set a filter for an IP address for extra security (instructions available here)
