Symptom
You are trying to set a mass data run (MDRO) as Obsolete, but the system is returning the error message:
- Cannot change status; mass data run ABC is scheduled (ABC represents the Run ID).

Reproducing the Issue
We will take as example the Production Control work center - Order Release Run view, but this applies to any run in the system.
- Go to Production Control work center.
- Go to Order Release Run view.
- Search for the Run ID: ABC.
- Click Actions and select "Set To Obsolete".
- The mentioned error appears: "Cannot change status; mass data run ABC is scheduled".
Cause
You have not cancelled the Background Job under Background Jobs view.
Resolution
There are two methods to cancel the job:
- Option 1:
- Go to Application and User Management work center.
- Go to Background Jobs view.
- Find and select the required Run ID in the Scheduled query filter.
- Click Cancel Job.
- If you do not find the Scheduled job, please click the Advanced Filter.
- Change Status to Completed.
- Click Go.
- Locate the Run ID and click Cancel Job.
- Option 2:
- Go to Production Control - Order Creation Run view.
- Select the Run ID and Click View Jobs.
- Keep Scheduled Jobs in query, and click on Advanced Filter.
- Change Status to Completed, click Go.
- Select the job and click Cancel Job.
Now you can set the run as obsolete:
- Go to Production Control work center.
- Go to Order Release Run view.
- Select the Run ID.
- Click Actions and select "Set To Obsolete".
Note: These resolution steps apply to all runs in the system.
