3208483 - Item Required Due Date changes by one day when editing required date on user screen before revising item

Symptom

Item Required Due Date changes by one day when editing required date on user screen before revising item.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning (LMS)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Assign free-floating item to user.
  2. Navigate to user screen on admin view and click edit (pencil icon).
  3. Set required date and required assignment type at user level.
  4. Navigate to item screen and revise.
  5. Note the newer revision on the user assigned items has changed by one extra day to the required date.

Cause

Since required dates are calculated for one full end of day, the revised item extends required date by one full day since it is assigned during revision and is not the same assignment datetime of the prior revision due to system database timezone (UTC) different than admin/user and how it is processed in sql stored procedure.

Resolution

Code fix via LRN-132301 to prevent changed required due date resolved for 2H2022 & patch targeted for b2205p13 (13-Jul-22) via PTCH-38849.
