Date filter prompt not appearing in Report Story

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
People Analytics Report Story

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to instance
  2. Proceed to Report Center
  3. Edit Report Story
  4. No Date Filter prompting

Cause

  • No Tables are created within the story using that query.
  • Prompt for the data set has not been set.
  • The story report variable setting is set to "Save Current Variable Selections" 

Resolution

1. Create a table under the selected datasource.

2. Set the prompt for the data source:

  1. Under data > click the icon "{}",
  2. Select the data source, it will prompt the variables settings 
  3. Click "Automatically open prompt when story opens"

3. Another solution are as follows:

  1. Under the Tools, select the icon {}
  2. Select Variable Settings
  3. Click the "Clear Variables and Use-Server Defined Values"
  4. Select the date today, save the report
  5. Notice that it will now ask us to set the date everytime we run the story report.
