3208993 - Disaggregation of booked values on exception aggregation average does not work as expected in SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC)

Symptom

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC):

  • Disaggregation in accounts with Average Exception Aggregation setting on does not work properly.

  • Bottom-up planning works but top-down planning does not if there is already an existing value.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2022.8.7

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open an SAC story that contains a planning enabled table.
  2. Enter data in a base level cell to do the bottom up planning.
  3. The aggregation works as expected.
  4. Enter data in a parent level cell to do the top down planning.
  5. The disaggregation does not generate the expected values.

Cause

The data entry on a booked average value does not mean that we just copy down this value to every single member which is below.
We keep this proportionally unless all values are zero to start with.

Resolution

The recommended way to use the top-down and the bottom-up processes would be to do the top-down process first and then do the bottom-up method.
In this way, they wouldn’t influence each other, and it would be a safer way to proceed.
