3209106 - Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2022 - object Copy/Paste does not use original objects size properties when pasting

Symptom

Copy/ Pasting an object in the Embedded Report Designer in VS 2022 IDE does not use the original objects size properties

Environment

  • Crystal Reports, developer for Visual Studio 2022 (64 bit installer )
  • VS 2022

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open a report in Visual Studio IDE
  2. Copy any object
  3. Paste the object and note the object size is huge
  4. Drop the object onto the report
  5. Looking at the properties of the object:

Note: if you drop the object into a section the section becomes huge due to the object height is 14483456

The Object Width is 68812800

The Designer increases the section to fit the object.

Resolution

Work around: drop the object onto the report below the Report Footer so it can be resized to the original, height is a negative number. Once it's bee resized then it can be dropped onto the desired location.

This issue has been escalated to R&D for a fix - should be fixed in SP 33
