Symptom
The following behaviors occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):
- Fiscal period labels (e.g. P01, P02, P03) are displayed in stories based on a particular model
- However, in the particular model preference, Month is selected for Fiscal Period Name Label under Date settings
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2022.8.10
Reproducing the Issue
- Open the story or create a new story based on this particular model.
In this model -> Model Preferences -> Date Setting -> Fiscal Setting -> Fiscal Period Name Label, it has already been set as Month. - In the story, go to the Chart and add a Date dimension, which enabled Fiscal Setting.
- Set the hierarchy as Fiscal Year, Quarter, Period.
- Drill down to the Period level.
=> Notice it is shown as P01, P02 but not Jan, Feb.
Cause
The development team confirmed that for this special model, the Fiscal Period Name Label is forced to set as period name after a backend upgrade.
Resolution
Using below steps to reset the Fiscal Period Name Label for this special mode.
- Open the model and go to Model Preferences -> Date Setting -> Fiscal Setting -> Fiscal Period Name Label, set it to another value rather then Month. Save the setting.
- Close the model and open the model again.
- Go to Model Preferences -> Date Setting -> Fiscal Setting -> Fiscal Period Name Label, set it back to Month. Save the setting.
