3210370 - Update java component patching using SUM fails with "Could not start process dbmcli".

Symptom

  • SUM log shows:
    The following problem has occurred during step execution: com.sap.sdt.db.dmtif.DMTExecutionFailedException: Could not execute DMT command runhandler. See previous messages.
    The dbmcli process could not be executed.
    Could not run OS process dbmcli for action CHECK_NEEDED.
    Could not start process dbmcli.
    Error while executing process dbmcli.
    java.io.IOException: Could not start 'dbmcli -d <SID> -U c_J2EE auto_extend show' in path '<Drive:>\usr\sap\<SID>\SUM\sdt\tmp'. Details: CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified
