Symptom
The data of an employee has not yet been replicated from SuccessFactors to ByD. Therefore you consider this employee record as relevant for replication. But you cannot successfully replicate this employee. This works neither via automatically nor via manually triggered master data replication.
Although you receive a success message during the data upload from Employee Central to Business ByDesign, you also get the info "1 records received from EC, 0 data records are relevant for replication" for this employee. Afterwards, the employee also does not appear in ByDesign.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Master Data Replication work center
- Go to Employees view
- On this screen, choose Actions and the option Upload Data from Employee Central
- The system confirms the successful replication, and throws the error "1 records received from EC, 0 data records are relevant for replication" for this employee
- Go to Master Data Replication work center
- Go to Employees view
- In the dropdown menu on the top left, select All
- The employee is not available
Cause
The issue may be caused by the fact that the employee is associated with an external employee class which is "Agency_Temp".
Resolution
The current design in ByD only supports internal employee classes, hence such a record is disregarded for replication.
External employees are not supported. This is the intended and standard system behaviour.
