Symptom

Hourly Daily Hris Sync casing Importing employee data such us causing Job Information failure

You would receive an application error when importing job history record.

The application error id would be accompanied by:The system has encountered an unknown error on import. Please contact the System Administrator

Reproducing the Issue

Customer:

Go to Import employee data
Job history
Result: The system has encountered an unknown error on import. Please contact the System Administrator

Partner or SAP:

Go to Provisioning
Mange schedule
select HRIS Sync
Recurring
Rundaily: Hourly

Cause

An hourly delta sync job schedule is causing Import failure

Resolution

Best Practices to schedule Sync jobs. 2080728 - Employee Central: What is HRIS Sync?

Delta Recurring Job: Must be Run 3 times for a Recurring job

The system will kick delta Sync job for every change made via UI, API, Import. Hence we recommend not to schedule delta Sync job on an hourly basis.

Solution:

To sync data from Employee Central to the user data tables

The maximum times that the job can run each day in the Admin Center.

3 times for a One-Time job
3 times for a Recurring job

Result : hourly job it isn’t supporting ( You must create a Daily Hris sync job with frequency: Run same job 3 time daily ( 3: 15 AM , 13: 15 PM 21:15 PM))

Since B2305 release (Post release- 2305): customer can schedule some job such as: Hris sync Via UI View: Creating a Scheduled Job Request in Admin Center and View : 2512570 - Creating an HRIS Sync Job in SAP SuccessFactors Via Scheduled Job Manager or Provisioning

Full Sync: Can be Run: 3 times for a One-Time job

Full Sync job is meant for initial customer go-live or for any massive data change or for any major data discrepancies.

It is not advisable to schedule a Full Sync job daily or weekly or monthly or quarterly, etc. If there are data discrepancies, please raise tickets for support and support can advise if Full Sync needs to be run. As a customer, you don't have access to Provisioning. To complete tasks in Provisioning, contact your implementation partner. If you're no longer working with an implementation partner, contact SAP Cloud Support.
