Symptom
You are receiving an error message while adding Functional Area for Nonsales object in Functional Area Determination.
Error: If account is initial, you have to restrict to sales documents.

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Business Configuration work center and Implementation Projects view.
- Select the project and select Open Activity List.
- Go to the tab Fine-Tuning Activities.
- Select activity: Settings for Income Statements by Function of Expense and Earned Profit Analysis.
- Select Functional Area Determination.
- Select Add Row in tab Determination Using G/L Accounts.
- Input data: Restrict to: 2 - Nonsales Object and select Functional Area.
- Select Save.
Error message: If account is initial, you have to restrict to sales documents
Cause
You have not specified the G/L account while adding the Functional area for Nonsales Object. It is not possible to use the Nonsales Object entry with an unspecified G/L account.
Resolution
You need to follow the steps to use the Nonsales object entry for Functional area.
- Go to the Business Configuration work center and Implementation Projects view.
- Select the project and select Open Activity List.
- Go to the tab Fine-Tuning Activities.
- Select activity: Settings for Income Statements by Function of Expense and Earned Profit Analysis.
- Select Functional Area Determination.
- Select Add Row in tab Determination Using G/L Accounts.
- Input the Chart of Accounts, G/L account, Restrict to: 2 - Nonsales Object and select Functional Area.
- Select Save.
