3213324 - How to provide developer user access to syscomments.text when "select on syscomments.text" is set to 0 - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Our security team recommends setting the "syscomments.text" parameter to 0 (sp_configure 'syscomments.text', 0).
  • But our developer login cannot extract stored procedure / function / trigger codes from the user database as a regular database user with the read-only role.
  • Is there a way to provide developer accounts necessary access while the server level setting is 0?
