Symptom
You have created a key figure and you are using it in a report view which contains a hierarchy (characteristic or hierarchy). You notice that the result row of the key figure does not show the correct value.
You may also notice that it works correctly when you switch off the hierarchy.
Environment
SAP Business byDesign
Cause
This happens due to different types of aggregations in the report result row vs the hierarchy.
Resolution
Ideally, result rows should not be used with a hierarchy. However if this is required, you can test the following workaround:
- Edit your key figure.
- Go to step 3.
- Remove the result setting (e.g. Total, Average etc).
- Maintain it in the exception aggregation instead. So for example, maintain Total, if the key figure is supposed to show a sum.
- Choose a characteristic for the exception aggregation. This should be at the most granular level of the report. For example, if it is an opportunity report and it includes opportunity items, you should choose the Opportunity Item. If your report is on header level only, you can choose the Opportunity.
