Symptom

  • Install the script 'instbaldr.sql' that was downloaded from the KBA 2502193 - SYB: BALDR - New Monitoring Persistency Layer
  • Run command  isql -Usapsa -X -S<sapsid> -w999 -i instbaldr.sql  get error:

    Msg 102, Level 15, State 181:
    Incorrect syntax near 'GO'.
    Msg 102, Level 15, State 181:
    Incorrect syntax near 'GO'.

    or

    Msg 156, Level 15, State 2:
    Line 1:
    Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'END'.

    or 

    Must declare variable '@time_start'.
    Msg 137, Level 15, State 2:
    Line 18:

  • Open this file by 'vi' ,  you could see the line terminator is "^M"
