3215737 - How to open a popup window for editing values in Backoffice Product Cockpit (PCM)

Symptom

In Backoffice Product Cockpit (PCM) perspective, when editing the values in MultiReferenceEditor, it will direct to a secondary page from product view. After the editings on this secondary page is completed and clicking "Back", it is reloading the product and redirecting the users to the "Properties" tab rather than the previous tab they were on. Therefore, if users didn't save the changes before the secondary page is opening, the unsaved changes they had on product are lost.

In order to improve the user experience on PCM, this article will describe how to replicate the Administration perspective behaviour in PCM:

  • when user opens a secondary window from product view, come up as a pop-up window and the unsaved changes on product are kept after closing the pop-up window.
