3216772 - For You Today Cards appear even the user does not have permission to Goal Plan - Goal Management

Symptom

According to the Guide, the permission needed to generate the card:

  1. Goal plan template permission in RBP
  2. Goal name field read permission
  3. Due date field read permission
  4. Status write permission.

Once generated, then only the login user can see it on the Homepage.

However, even the users do not have access to the Goal Plan, they can see the Goals in For You Today cards. If they click on it, they receive the error message 900-001-6, since they don't have access to the Goal Plan.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Goal Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Proxy as an user that has access to Latest Home Page and does not have permission to access Goal Plans;
  2. Go to Home Page;
  3. The For You Today card is shown and the user can see their goals that are pending;
  4. If the user clicks on the goal, the error 900-001-6 appears on the screen, since the user does not have permission to the Goal Plan.

Cause

The goals generated cards due to Latest Home Page initial load, which is a one-time occurrence.

Resolution

Newly created goals do not result in a Homepage card. Therefore, if users have any cards that should not be generated, please do the following:

  • Update the status of the goal to 'Completed'.Also,by saying that the goals have been completed, is the status = last enum value, and not just labelled 'completed'.
  • change the due date to sometime before current day (Today), or
  • delete the goal and create a new one (which should not result in the For You Today card).
