3217343 - Termination End Handling is not Delimiting/Closing Time Accounts and not Performing all the Cleanup Activities

Symptom

As part of Termination End Handling, time accounts are not always delimited/closed after termination, and not all the cleanup activities are performed.
What are some of the known behaviours or potential causes ?

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central > Time Off

Reproducing the Issue

The Termination end handling has been configured as per the guide.
After terminating a user, not all the open Time accounts are delimited as of the Termination Date.
Also, some of the cleanup activities are not being performed.

Cause

1) The Termination End Handling process will not trigger if there are Termination End Handling alerts present for the user in Admin Alerts > Termination End Handling Alert

2) The Time Management Task object is used for the lifecycle of the execution of the Termination End Handling Process. The task type is "Termination End Handling".

You can find it by navigating to Manage Data → Time Management Task, then searching by user ID.

This task is important because:

When its status is set to "Scheduled", it will be picked up by the nightly "TLMTriggerTasks" job once the scheduled date is reached. Please see Time Management Task Handling on Termination | SAP Help Portal.

If a Time Management Task of type Termination End Handling remains in Scheduled status after the scheduled date has passed, this indicates that:

The TLMTriggerTasks job is not scheduled or not running in the system.

3) It is an expected behavior / limitation of the Termination End Handling Feature

Resolution

1. Correct the errors outlined for the user in Admin Alerts > Termination End Handling Alert. Once the errors have been corrected, you can click on Action > Retrigger termination end handling process. Please see Alerts and Retriggering the Termination Process | SAP Hep Portal.

2. Ensure that the TLMTriggerTasks job is configured in Provisioning and is running nightly.

3. Some expected behaviours / limitations of Termination End Handling;

Termination End Handling only processes time accounts with a validity or bookable end date on or after the termination date.
If there are recurring accounts open from past years and you terminate a user in the current year (Example - 2022), only the time accounts in year 2022 are closed as part of Termination End Handling execution.
The Older accounts are expected to be taken care by Period End Processing.
Time Accounts based on Hire Date are not Closed by Termination End Handling.
Termination End Handling is not triggered for employees with time account that have as entitlement method "entitled as transferred". This means if this user has ever been granted with TAT with entitlement method "entitled as transferred" before and even later this TAT has been deleted, still this process would not be triggered for this user.
