3219492 - Getting error while creating imported SQL Database connection in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

The following error occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) while creating imported SQL Database:

  • Unable to connect to data source. Check your connection details then try again.

See the following error in Tomcat logs:

  • Caused by: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Error: "sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target".
