3219938 - New entry is created during org object replication when cancel an action in SF

Symptom

When cancel an action in SuccessFactors, instead of changing the existing entry's end date to 31.12.9999, a new entry is created during org object replication.

Environment

  • Organizational Data Replication from Employee Central to SAP S/4HANA On Premise
  • Organizational Data Replication from Employee Central to SAP ERP HCM

Reproducing the Issue

  1. An org object is active from 28.08.2021 in SuccessFactors.
Run org object replication query program RH_SFIOM_ORG_OBJ_REPL_QUERY for this object via SE38.
An entry with valid period 28.08.2021 ~ 31.12.9999 is created in ERP system.
  2. Change the job object to inactive from 01.09.2021 in SuccessFactors.
Run org object replication query program RH_SFIOM_ORG_OBJ_REPL_QUERY for this object via SE38.
Valid period of the entry is changed from 28.08.2021 ~ 31.12.9999 to 28.08.2021 ~ 31.08.2021 in ERP system.
  3. Cancel the action in step 2 in SuccessFactors.
Run org object replication query program RH_SFIOM_ORG_OBJ_REPL_QUERY for this object via SE38.
New entry with valid period 01.09.2021 ~ 31.12.9999 is inserted in ERP system instead of extending the end date of the existing entry from 31.08.2021 to 31.12.9999.

Cause

Avoid unnecessary retro calculation.

Resolution

To avoid unnecessary retro calculations, the new entry (valid period 01.09.2021 ~ 31.12.9999 in example) is inserted on purpose.
