Symptom
Error 'Upload failed' when trying to upload a catalog using a CSV file.

SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Product Portfolio work center.
- Go to Catalogs view.
- Click New button and select Supplier Catalog.
- Enter the mandatory information.
- Click Browse button.
- Insert the file in TXT.
- Click Import button. After some time see that the Import Status is Failed.
- Click View Import Log.
See in the Description the message 'Upload failed'.
Cause
The file format being used is not correct.
Resolution
Do the import using the following steps:
- Go to Product Portfolio work center.
- Choose Catalogs view.
- Click Open catalog template file.
- Type all necessary details.
Avoid pasting data in the first row, this can break the template.
- Click Autofill ID.
- Click Generate.
- Click Save and Save it on your Desktop.
- After saving, navigate to the file and open it, so you will be able to visualize the csv format with the data separated by semicolons.
- Again go to Product Portfolio work center.
- Choose Catalogs view.
- Click button New.
- Choose Supplier Catalog.
- Enter catalog name and Supplier ID.
- Click Browse and Choose same file that you saved earlier.
- Click Import.
