3220463 - HTTP Codes "502 invalid response", "504 : Gateway Time-out" or other 502/504 responses

Symptom

After calling a webservice which is transferred more than 1 minute, it failed with error below in SRT_UTIL
SRT: Unsupported xstream found: ("HTTP Code 504  : Gateway Time-out")

The "504 Gateway Time-out" message can also be returned while accessing SAP through the browser (e.g., Fiori, WebGUI, ...).

Other possible messages are:

  • "502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.

    There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server."
     
  • "502 Bad Gateway"
