3220881 - Identified Stock XXX and Product Specification YYY Do Not Match; Confirmation Creation Failed

Symptom

Following error occurs when you confirming production task,

"-----> Identified stock XXX and product specification YYY do not match

Confirmation creation failed".

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Production Control Work Center.
  2. Navigate to Task Control View.
  3. Search for the Production task.
  4. Choose Confirm button.
  5. Select Identified Stock (Istock) XXX for Product ZZZ, then the error occurs.

Cause

You will note that the Product Specification for all the line items(Input Products) is YYY in the task.
Moreover if you navigate to Stock Overview, there would be no stock for Product ZZZ with Specification YYY.  Therefore it's an expected system behavior.

Resolution

In What's New in Supply Chain Management of 2205 Release, regarding Maintain Product Specification for Input Products: you can now maintain the Product Specification for input products in the production bill of material (BoM) and use them across the production process chain. The product specification maintained in the production bill of material for an input product always takes precedence over an inherited product specification (in case the scoping question ‘Do you want to prevent the product specification from being propagated from output products to input products?’ is not scoped in).

Therefore, for now you can modify the BoM based on above new function and update the production model and re-create a new production order.
