3223831 - Tomcat doesn't start after Windows patch update

Symptom

  • Windows box restarted
  • Data Services Management Console hung no error
  • CMC console hung no error
  • Tomcat no longer starts 
  • Tomcat start but stops immediately
  • Error bellow appears in stderr.log:
    "SEVERE: Failed to create server shutdown socket on address [localhost] and port [8005] (base port [8005] and offset [0])
    java.net.BindException: Address already in use: JVM_Bind (local host unknown, remote port 8005 to address 127.0.0.1)"
    Error: URI=file:/F:/ProgramData/SAP%20BusinessObjects/Data%20Services/conf/admin.xml Line=1: cvc-elt.1.a: Cannot find the declaration of element 'administrator'.
    ERROR StatusLogger Log4j2 could not find a logging implementation. Please add log4j-core to the classpath. Using SimpleLogger to log to the console...
    log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (freemarker.cache).
    log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.
