Symptom
When an integration flow in SAP Cloud Integration attempts to send a message using the SOAP receiver adapter, the call fails with an HTTP 404 Not Found error.
This error indicates that while the connection to the target server was established, the specific service path or resource at the specified URL could not be located on the server. The message monitor displays the following exception:
org.apache.cxf.interceptor.Fault: Could not send Message., cause: org.apache.cxf.transport.http.HTTPException: HTTP response '404: Not Found. <div ...> The specified URL cannot be found.</div>...' when communicating with https://<Target Server URL>.
Crucially, this issue persists even after verifying the troubleshooting steps for common connectivity and firewall issues, such as those described in the following SAP Knowledge Base Articles:
2832169 - SAP Cloud Integration Runtime Error: "The target server failed to respond"
2599585 - CPI: HTTP response '404: Not found' when communicating between CPI and backend system
