Symptom
Journal Entry cannot be posted due to error "Posting for OSS not permitted; nec. Customizing settings are missing: XX" via app Post General Journal Entries.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Enter app Post General Journal Entries.
- Add mandatory fields like Company Code, Fiscal Year, Journal Entry Date, Currency.
- Enter Company Code, G/L Account and Amount in first line item.
- Select More details and enter Tax Code XX.
- Error comes up: "Posting for OSS not permitted; nec. Customizing settings are missing: XX".
Cause
OSS was not enabled for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, it is not possible to activate OSS for S/4HANA Public Cloud customer. Therefore the solution can also not be used.
Resolution
Under Statutory Reporting Generic VAT the tax codes can be selected for reconciliation purposes for MOSS.
"Include MOSS Tax: VAT MOSS tax codes are not reported in the advance return for tax on sales/purchases but in the Mini One-Stop Shop procedure. These tax codes can also be selected here for reconciliation purposes. When this indicator is set, tax reporting line items with a MOSS tax code are also selected and processed."
