Symptom
Journal Entry cannot be posted due to error "Posting for OSS not permitted; nec. Customizing settings are missing: XX" via app Post General Journal Entries.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Enter app Post General Journal Entries.
- Add mandatory fields (Company Code, Fiscal Year, Journal Entry Date, Currency).
- Enter Company Code, G/L Account and Amount in first line item.
- Select More details and enter Tax Code XX.
- Error comes up: "Posting for OSS not permitted; nec. Customizing settings are missing: XX".
Cause
OSS was not enabled for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, it is not possible to activate OSS for S/4HANA Public Cloud customer. Therefore the solution can also not be used.
Resolution
- The fields OSS C/R and OSS Procedure are available in Define properties of configuration activity Define Tax Codes for Sales and Purchases (ID 101016) as they were transferred from private cloud but should not be used as this function was never released for the public cloud. These fields cannot be hidden.
- Remove values from these fields as this customizing is not supported in public cloud.
- Vote for Feature request 271470 to show interest in this feature and increase its likelihood of inclusion in future roadmap.
