Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon to Service Cloud v2.
  2. Go to User Menu.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Click at All Settings tab.
  5. Under Users and Control section click at Identity Provider Configuration.
  6. Click at Add(+) button.
  7. Fill the alias name.
  8. Drag and drop the metadata file in the proper area.
  9. Nothing happens.

The file you are trying to upload do not have the correct extension. Only files with extension .xml are supported.
Other extensions, such as .txt, .cer or .cert are not valid here.

Change the extension of your metadata file to .xml and try uploading again:

  1. Rename the metadata file (e.g: IdPMetadata.xml)
  2. Drag and drop the file IdPMetadata.xml to Upload Metadata area.
  3. Notice below the area there is the text File selected: IdPMetadata.xml confirming the file was successfully selected:

  4. Click at Save button.
