Symptom
You are trying to subscribe to a certain task through the Inbox work center view, however the required task is not listed.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
1. Go to the Home work center.
2. Enter the Inbox view.
3. Click on the Subscribe to Tasks button.
Here, the desired task type is not available for subscription.
Cause
In cases where no standard subscription is available, it is suggested to create a Workflow Rule, which will enable users to subscribe to it.
Resolution
In order to create a workflow rule to be available for the task subscription, follow the below steps:
- Go to the Application and User Management work center.
- Enter the Workflow Rules view.
- Click on the New button.
- Add a Description to the Workflow Rule (this will be the value which will appear in the task subscription list).
- Define the Business Object in the dropdown.
- Set the Timing as required.
- Click on the Next button.
- In the Conditions step, define the conditions that will trigger the notification according to the business requirement.
- Click on the Next button.
- On step 3 set the Rule Type field as Notification.
- Define the notification data, such as the subject, placeholders and recipient based on the business requirement.
- Click on the Next button.
- Review the Workflow Rule and click on the Finish button.
- Click on the Activate button.
After creating the workflow rule, the same will be available for the users in the Task Subscription screen, under the Notification Rule section of the list.
