Environment
- SAP Crystal Reports 2016
- SAP Crystal Reports 2020
Resolution
- OData connectivity was introduced in Support Pack 02 of Crystal Reports 2020.
There is no OData connection in Crystal Reports 2016 and below.
- To connect to OData in Crystal Reports 2020 with Support Pack 02, and above:

In Crystal Reports 2020, under the File, select "New - Standard Report"
- In the Report Creation Wizard's Data screen, expand the Create New Connection node.
- Double-click: OData
- Enter the OData service root URL
The service root URL = OData metadata URL without the ending ‘$metadata’ section. For example:
A sample public OData metadata URL : https://services.odata.org/V4/Northwind/Northwind.svc/$metadata
A sample public service root URL : https://services.odata.org/V4/Northwind/Northwind.svc/
- If required, enter your credentials.
- Click Finish.
