3224843 - Promotion job reported failure but objects promoted with FRS errors

Symptom

Trying to run promotion from BI 4.2 SP08 to BI 4.3 SP02 server

  • Promotion management application works on Source (4.2) but not on target(4.3).
  • Promotions fail with an error similar to "Failure : Object has failed to promote. Please see the log for more details"
  • But the objects are promoted in the BI Launchpad and CMC but they are not in the FRS.
  • As such viewing these objects results in an error like "The viewer could not process an event. file xyz not found in repository server"
  • FRS is on a NFS Share FRS location. 
  • The FRS location for these promoted content does not exist.
