3225677 - Error "Action failed; error while closing lot." While Trying to Cancel Production Order

While trying to cancel a Production Order, the error message 'Action failed; error while closing lot.' appears and it is not possible to cancel the Production Order.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Production Control workcenter.
2. Go to Production Orders view.
3. Select all Orders then search for the relevant Production Order.
4. Click Cancel button.

System throws error message 'Action failed; error while closing lot.'

The system is working as expected. During the cancel action of Production Order, the finish action is called for all tasks. Under section "Disallow Production Task Execution" of the relevant Production Order, if either checkbox is selected the tasks cannot be started and therefore the Purchase Order cannot be canceled.

You should remove these checkbox indicators and then it is possible to cancel the Production Order.
