3227109 - Hierarchy Settings in Report Are Grayed Out

You notice that characteristic hierarchy settings are not editable when you enable fiscal year for reporting in the business configuration.

SAP Cloud for Customer

1. Go to the work center Business Analytics and the view Design Reports.
2. Open open your report.
3. Go to the view, open the settings for a characteristic, for example "Created On".
4. The options under "Display Hierarchy" and "Initial Expansion Level" are editable.
5. Go to the work center Business Configuration, open the work center view Implementation Project and select "Edit Project Scope".
6. Navigate to the step "Review Questions" and choose "Built-in Services and Support" -> "System Management" -> "Analytics" and set "Enable reporting on Fiscal Year?" to In Scope.
7. Save this change.
8. Close and reopen the report.
9. Open the settings for "Created On" once again.

Now that the business configuration was changed, the hierarchy setting is not editable anymore. It is grayed out.

Depending on the setting in "Enable reporting on Fiscal Year?", the master data of fields will technically be retrieved differently.

This causes a difference in the hierarchy functionality.

Currently this cannot be changed without re-designing the discal year reporting functionality, which would be a very comprehensive adjustment. Due to this, we cannot support the hierarchy setting while "Enable reporting on Fiscal Year?" is set. If you would like to suggest an enhancement in future releases, you can make use of the Influence portal.
