3227154 - Business rules are not triggered in Foundation Object Imports

Symptom

  • There is a Business rule configured on a Foundation Object, the idea is to have the rule triggered upon saving / making changes to the Object.
  • The Rule works fine on the UI (Manage organization, pay and Job Structures) but not during Imports (Import Foundation Data)
  • How to enable the Business Rule Trigger while Importing Foundation Data?

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Business Rule with base object as a Foundation Object (Ex. Pay Range)
  2. Set it up as an onsave Trigger in the Corporate Data Model
  3. Notice that the rule works fine on the UI but doesn't trigger while Importing data from "Import Foundation Data"

Cause

This is an expected behavior

Resolution

Rules are not Supported during Imports for Foundation Objects
