This article explains the change in system behavior when using picklist.

These are some of the enhancement implemented on picklist.

1. The Default Value label will be set in each picklist value. If value is not provided, it will fetch the value in English US. The Default Value is supposed to populate when no specific label is provided in specific locale.

2. When using cascading picklist, the system auto-populate the child picklist. This rule applies when the parent picklist has only 1 value maintained in child picklist.
