3227526 - Change Document Cannot be Created

When trying to create a change document from a request for change document, the action fails with the following error:

"Change document cannot be generated"

Diagnosis
Change documents cannot be generated.

System Response
The system cancels the action and resets the status.

Procedure
Your request for change contains data that cannot be used to generate follow-up change documents.

Check the following possible errors:

The chosen change cycle, which is assigned in the Details assignment block, has a status that does not permit change documents to be generated (cycle without a task list). It is possible to assign change cycles without a task list to a request for change, but the change documents can be generated only when the task list is already available.
If possible, change the change cycle or choose a phase in the change cycle that allows change documents to be generated. If this is not possible, this change cycle cannot be used.
The Scope assignment block contains scope items and an assigned configuration item that is not the configuration item of the productive system in the one (or more) logical components assigned in the chosen change cycle. This is relevant only for the change categories Urgent Change, Standard Change and Normal Change. For the transaction type title Administrative Change, all configuration items of all systems of the assigned change cycle can be used. The change category General Change can have all configuration items.
Choose the correct configuration item for the transaction type title scope item.
If a change is not possible because the request for change has been approved and the fields cannot be edited, set the request for change to Validation. You can then change the data and the request for change can be approved again.

Be aware that for release cycles, a cycle has to be in the Scope phase for the change documents to be created.
