3227930 - Fixed Asset number gap when creating new Asset - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When creating new Fixed Asset master data the system creates gap between the last and new Asset number.

Create new Fixed Asset master data

The most common reason is, that the "missing" Asset numbers were already created and deleted afterwards, which are not visible in the App Manage Fixed Assets anymore.

SAP Support can confirm it via ticket while checking the table FAAT_MD_ROOT which shows the Asset lifecycle status.

The same field is available within the App Manage Fixed Assets, however the option 'Deleted' is not selectable.

If this scenario cannot be confirmed internally reach out to SAP Support referring to this KBA to check the table mentioned above.
