3228088 - "You are about to reach the limit 40 of STRING-typed fields. You cannot exceed this limit" message on Candidate Profile Extension

Symptom

When trying to add a new custom string-typed field to the Candidate Profile Extension object got the following error message: " You are about to reach the limit 40 of STRING-typed fields. You cannot exceed this limit."

Reproducing the Issue

Go to Admin Center Configure Object Definition Candidate Profile Extension.
Go to Take Action Make Correction.
Enter the name of the string field you want to add
Configure and save
Get the error message "You are about to reach the limit 40 of STRING-typed fields. You cannot exceed this limit"

Cause

This is a product limitation in SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management, where the system restricts the number of custom STRING-typed fields to a maximum of 40 in the Candidate Profile Extension.

Resolution

Although more fields are not currently supported, you can always share this idea in our Community so it can be considered to become a future enhancement.
