3228336 - ID shown instead of description when displaying dimension members from live BW connection

Symptom

Display of characteristics or dimension members show ID only even when Description is selected

Description may appear for some characteristics or dimensions but not others

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud, all versions

 

Reproducing the Issue

  • Add a table based on a live data connection to a BW system
  • Add a dimension to the row or column definition
  • Set the display to "Description"
  • The table will still show ID only for the dimension members

Resolution

The toggle "Respect text presentations that are defined at the BW Query level" is not set in System / Administration
