3229139 - Error "Cannot change cost rate of service XYZ; it was used in valuation after DD.MM.YYYY" When Updating Cost Rate of Service XYZ

Error is displayed upon updating cost rate for a service:

"Cannot change cost rate of service XYZ; it was used in valuation after DD.MM.YYYY" when updating the cost rate of the service. (XYZ stands for the service ID, while DD.MM.YYYY stands for the valid from date of the cost rate.)

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Cost and Revenue work center.
2. Go to the Services view.
3. Edit service XYZ.
4. Go to the Valuation tab, and click Edit Cost Rate. 
5. Update the cost rate with valid from date as DD.MM.YYYY.
6. Press Enter, error is thrown:

"Cannot change cost rate of service XYZ; it was used in valuation after DD.MM.YYYY".

The error occurs as there are postings for this service after DD.MM.YYYY.

This can be viewed via the G/L Accounts - Line Items report, as follows:

1. Go to the General Ledger work center.
2. Go to the Reports view.
3. Open the report G/L Accounts - Line Items.
4. Input company, set of books, and Journal Entry Type as Internal Service Confirmation. 
5. Run the report.
6. Add field Service (Product) and filter with service XYZ: the postings are displayed.

If the cost rate needs to be changed with the validity from DD.MM.YYYY, the postings after the date need to be reversed first to allow this.
