Symptom
Error received when creating a job requisition from position: "Sorry, the requisition cannot be created. Creation of a job requisition for position XXXXX failed. Details: XXXXX is/are invalid values of std_position_objlist. Enter valid external code"
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Company Info > Position Org Chart
- Select a Position
- Click Actions > Create New Job Requisition
- Click Create
- Receive the error
Cause
- The position being selected in the position object has a start date in the future. The position will be considered as active/valid when the start date is met.
- Incorrect field mapping for the position object field. For example, the field is being mapped to "Position.Position Name.Default Value" instead of the position code.
Resolution
Position Start Date is in the future
To create a job requisition from a future dated Position, refer to KBA 3033829 to configure the Job Start Date and the business rule.
Alternatively, please either wait for the actual start date or adjust the value of start date (today's date or in the past) in the position if it is wrong. Please note that date is validated based on time zone assigned to the datacenter.
Field mapping for Position Object
Make sure to map the Position object field to the Position Code.
If it is a direct mapping, map it to "Position.Code". If any other function is used to obtain the value, ensure that it retrieves the position code from the position.
To review the business rule, follow steps below:
- Go to Admin Center > Position Management Settings
- Select the Integration tab
- Click on the quick card to view the "Field Mapping Rule to Create Job Requisition from Position"
