3230485 - Error message "Start Date Must Not Be Later Than End Date" During Rehire of Employee

You are trying to rehire an employee, but system raises error message "Rehire Activity Failed. Start date date must not be later than end date."

1. Go to Personnel Administration work center.
2. Access the Employees view.
3. Change selection to All Employees.
4. Locate and select the relevant employee that needs to be rehired.
5. Click the Actions button and choose Rehire Employee.
6. Fill in the mandatory details and click the Save button.
7. Error message is raised

The issue might be caused by an inconsistency in the Payroll Period Assignment "Valid From" date. This would have been caused as a result of a change in the hire date of the employee to something in the future.

For example: employee's hire date was changed from 02.05.2022 to 01.07.2022 (i.e. moved to a date in the future).

However, due to an inconsistency, the "Valid From" date from the employee's Payroll Period Assignment was not updated. This causes the error message raised during rehiring.

With system version 2208, developers have delivered a fix which will ensure that the payroll period "Valid From" date is properly updated whenever there is a change in the employee's hire date. This will ensure no other employees become inconsistent going forward.

For employees that were already inconsistent before the fix was delivered, a manual correction to the Payroll Period Assignment "Valid From" date should be done, so that it matches the current hire date. To do this:

1. Go to Personnel Administration work center.
2. Access the Employees view.
3. Change selection to All Employees.
4. Locate and select the relevant employee that needs to be rehired.
5. Click the Edit button.
6. Navigate to the Employment tab.
7. Navigate to the Payroll Group Assignment sub-tab.
8. Change the Valid From field of the Payroll Period Assignment so that it matches the employee's Hire Date from the Work Agreement sub-tab.
