Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Recurring Deductions
Reproducing the Issue
1. Go to Recurring Deductions
2. Try to Edit or Insert New Record
3. Enter any negative value in Amount / Percentage / Number of units field
4. Save
5. Will prompt Error: Invalid amount, please enter a valid amount
Cause
Deductions accept only positive values. A positive value here means logically deducting from employee.
Resolution
Should you want to pay instead then use payCompRecurring. It is not possible to take negative values here nor in payCompRecurring.
This is an expected behavior. Recurring deduction/One Time Deduction does not allow '0' or negative amount
