3231209 - Line-item credit memo created for a service purchase order failed in SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA

Symptom

The supplier is on an Ariba Network account integrated with SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA using SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway. Previously, when the supplier created a line-item credit memo for a service purchase order in Ariba Network, the line-item credit memo failed in SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA with the following error message:

Balance Not Zero: <value>- debits: <value> credits: <value>
